Huge news coming through to the NED camp with confirmation that we’ve been awarded GOLD in the World Whiskies Awards.

Judged in the UK, the World Whiskies Awards are considered the pinnacle of international whisky recognition and have launched brands from around the world into global recognition. We’re delighted that the WANTED Series – The HONOUR of NED released has been awarded GOLD overnight.

A creation from the barrelhouse team, HONOUR is a 48% brawler that has a rich, pronounced nose leading to a silky, moreish long finish. This is a limited release that we won’t be repeating, but we’ve released a few bottles online.

The HONOUR of NED begins with a rich orange and caramel scents, moving into oak, raisins and vanilla. The taste is a sweet and rich oak with plenty of power and length. With hints of chocolate, orange peel and vanilla toasted moving into sweet Christmas cake. It has a great balance with a pleasant smooth heat.

We also received a SILVER medal for our NED Australian Sour Mash Whisky – our classic expression that’s available year in, year out.

It’s been a gold rush in the past 12 months for NED Whisky (including Australian Whisky Of The Year at the Melbourne International Spirits Competition) but this is an incredibly exciting recognition for the team behind NED Whisky.
